Job purpose
The Landscape Designer is responsible for creating well-balanced, attractive, and functional outdoor environments for residential, commercial, and public spaces. This role combines creativity with technical knowledge to develop design concepts that enhance natural surroundings, meet client specifications, and comply with environmental and zoning regulations.

Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
Conduct site analysis, including soil, climate, and existing vegetation assessments.
Create design concepts, drawings, and 3D renderings using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Select appropriate plants, materials, and hardscape elements based on climate, soil, and design goals.
Prepare detailed plans, construction documents, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with landscape contractors, architects, and other professionals during installation.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning laws, and environmental guidelines.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or related field.
Proficiency in landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.).
Strong knowledge of plant materials, horticulture practices, and sustainable design.
Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and maintain project schedules.
Attention to detail and ability to translate design concepts into actionable plans.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
Experience with landscape management software such as Aspire is a plus.
Certification or licensure (e.g., CLD or RLA) is a plus.
